Travel Nursing Jobs

"Just within my first year of being with Onward Healthcare, I've had the opportunity to do more and see more that I ever have in my life to date.

I've met and made some great friends along the way. And, all of the staff at OH (especially my awesome recruiter!) are some of the hardest working people I know, always coming through with job opportunities in just the locations that I love!"

– Mary, Onward Traveler, 5+ years

Why Professionals Choose Travel Nursing

Karen, Onward Traveler for 2 years. On assignment in
New Mexico.

Typical travel nursing jobs are 13-weeks long, offer the opportunity to live in exciting and unique destinations, and often pay 10%-15% more than permanent nurse jobs.

The Perks of a Travel Nursing Career:

  • The ability to explore new exciting locations and fulfill a sense of adventure.
  • The freedom to set your own schedule and rejuvenate between travel nursing assignments.
  • The opportunity to learn new medical technology and build your nursing resume.
  • The added bonuses such a free private housing, travel reimbursement and tax-free pay.

As a travel nurse, you're in control of where and when you want to work. You’re free to explore a new destination every few months or you can settle in one area and experience all its seasons. Or if you want to stay close to home, you can enjoy "local travel" assignments in your own backyard.

Getting Started in a Travel Nursing Job

Starting your travel nursing career is relatively simple. Just follow the steps below:

Step 1: Complete our Online Application

An online travel nursing application is needed by our recruiters to present your profile to possible hospital clients and takes about 5 to 10 mins to complete.

Step 2: Speak with a Nurse Recruiter

After you complete your application, one of our experienced travel nurse recruiters will contact you to discuss your personal goals, location preferences, background, skillset, and availability.

Step 3: Interview with the Facility

This is normally conducted by phone and is your chance to ask questions about the hospital, your duties, and decide if the assignment will be a good fit for you.

Step 4: Accept a Travel Nurse Assignment

If you and the hospital decide to work together, your recruiter will begin managing your transition, including gathering documentation and assisting you in housing arrangements, coordination of pre-employment compliance forms and day one instructions for your new travel nursing job.

Step 5: Begin your Travel Nursing Career

It's that simple! And your recruiter will be with you every step of the way for any questions you have while on assignment or to help you choose your next destination.
