NFIB Names Connecticut Business Leader to Board of Directors

The nation's largest small-business advocacy group, NFIB, today announced the addition of Kevin C. Clark, a nationally recognized entrepreneur, to its board of directors. Clark is an NFIB member and founder and CEO of Onward Healthcare, Inc., a leading provider of staffing services to health-care facilities located in Norwalk, Connecticut.

As a member of NFIB's 14-member board of directors, Clark is charged with exemplifying the core values of the 600,000-member association, ensuring progress toward the organization's objectives and goals and oversight of business and financial operations.

“As an entrepreneur and leader in the healthcare and technology industries, Kevin Clark understands the risks NFIB members take in pursuit of the American dream and the importance of strong leadership in business decision making,” said NFIB President and CEO Jack Faris. “Kevin is not only a business owner, husband, and father of four, but also serves on the board of the Norwalk Homeless Shelter and is a member of the board of directors for Pinnacor and HealthMarket. His many years as a leader in the business community will be invaluable to NFIB as we strive to do what's best for our members.”

NFIB has been ranked the most influential business-lobbying organization in the country by Fortune all four years the magazine has conducted its “Power 25” survey of lobbying groups with the most clout in Washington. NFIB draws its clout from its position as a membership-driven organization, which gives its 600,000 members a direct voice to make their concerns known to policymakers in Washington and all 50 state capitals.

Prior to founding Onward Healthcare, Inc., Clark was chairman and CEO of Pinnacor, Inc. (NASDAQ:PCOR), a leading provider of technology and content solutions. He served as chairman and CEO of interactive marketing firm Poppe Tyson (NASDAQ:MMPT) and in 1986 he co-founded Cross Country Healthcare (NASDAQ: CCRN), now the nation's largest health-care professional placement firm. In 1994, Clark was selected by Fortune as one of the “Forty under Forty,” the country's top entrepreneurs under the age of forty, and in 2001, he received an Entrepreneur of the Year award from Ernst & Young.

“It's an honor to be appointed to NFIB's board of directors,” Clark said. “As a business owner and NFIB member, I know that it's crucial to a business' bottom line to have a voice in public policy at the state and federal levels. I'm glad to have the opportunity to collaborate with other leading small-business minds in providing guidance to the nation's top small-business organization.”

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is the nation's largest small-business advocacy group. A nonprofit, nonpartisan organization founded in 1943, NFIB represents the consensus views of its 600,000 members in Washington and all 50 state capitals.
