Perioperative Nurse - Operating Room Nurse

Elkhart General Hospital is a not-for-profit hospital located in lovely Elkhart, Indiana. Our Main Hospital Campus is situated in the City of Elkhart beside the beautiful St. Joseph River. Our full-service, 325-bed main hospital is comprised of over 300 physicians representing more than 30 medical specialties, and nearly 2,000 employees serve in nursing, technical, administrative, and support capacities. Elkhart General Hospital is a Beacon Health System Care Partner. 20 Private beds, Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:3-4. Specialties/Types of patients: Respiratory diagnosis (COPD, Pneumonia, continuous BIPAP, tracheostomy), Gastrointestinal disorders (GI bleed, cirrhosis, pancreatitis), Diabetic Keto Acidosis, Severe Sepsis, Renal Failure, Venous TPA specials patients including use of EKOS, Stable drug or chemical overdoses, Heart Failure, Isolation patients, Non titrated vasoactive IV infusions, Closely titrated fluid management. All patients have telemetry monitoring, vital signs and assessments every 4 hours (or more frequently). ICC staff skills include managing our own peripheral IV sites and performing 12 lead EKG's. Equipment used: BiPAP/CPAP machines, PCA and Epidural Pain Management, IV pumps, SpO2 and EtCO2 monitors, Bladder scanning, Patient lift equipment (ARJO and ceiling), Chest tubes, Electronic Vital Sign Machines, Computerized charting including scanning of medications, Blood Glucose Machines, Computerized dispensing and charging of medications (Suremed), Computerized dispensing and charging of supplies (Omnicell)

Required Qualifications

1. IN RN License (#/expiration) 2. ACLS, BLS
