Job Description & Requirements

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care

MIU B 18 Bed Medical Intermediate Unit Primary Population: Acutely ill adult patients experiencing the following: Respiratory Failure, Vent and Trach Management, Sepsis, COPD Exacerbation, Liver and Renal Failure, DKA, GI Bleed, CHF, Sickle Cell Anemia and other medical conditions Registered nurses provide care in conjunction with the care partner and medical team. The unit has a charge nurse without a patient assignment. Skills that will be utilized are continuous infusion medication management, pain management, wound care, arterial lines, central lines, tracheotomy patients, chest tubes, mechanical ventilation, continuous cardiac monitoring, and various continuous intravenous drips. RN ratio 1:3 Telemetry, intravenous drip, chest tubes, wound management, ventilator, non-invasive ventilator experience extremely recommended. The acuity level of this unit is comparable to ICU units in 600 - bed hospitals. Current Compact state RN or NC RN licensure required. BLS required. ACLS preferred

Required Qualifications

BLS, NC or compact lic 1 Year Experience in specialty Intermediate Level of Care on Unit Must read and interpret strips Vent Experience Experience with titratable drips Acute Care experience within the last 6 months Experience working in a Facility with 400+ beds 80 MILE RADIUS RULE
