Job Description & Requirements

Cardiovascular Nurse - Travel - (Cardio - CVICU RN)

Plan and coordinate the care plan for patients in all phases of VAD care (referral, evaluation, transplant, post-transplant) Perform nursing assessment with specific focus on Heart Failure for patients consulted to or identified by the Heart Transplant Program/VAD Collaborate with Nurse Practitioner, Unit Nursing Staff, Pharmacy, Physician, Provider, and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure care plan incorporates all needed elements related to VAD care. Educate patient and family/care giver on VAD devices Coordinate discharge teaching and follow-up care for VAD patients Document assessment and all other required information for VAD/Heart Transplant Program Triage all clinical calls Monitor and triage all lab, procedure and test findings Coordinate and navigate patient care schedule Coordinate VAD implants

Required Qualifications

Skilled in: comprehensive patient assessment, cardiology, heart failure patient care/management Must have current BLS and ACLS certifications Must have at least 2 years of experience with Cardiology and specifically VAD/Heart Transplant patient populations OR at least 2 years of CT Surgery or cardiology experience and 2 years of experience as solid organ transplant coordinator.

Preferred Qualifications

Cardiac Knowledge PA License strongly preferred for submission
