Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse

As one of the nations "Top Hospitals" with an "A" grade for Patient Safety, our dedicated physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals provide care to more than 25,000 patients admitted to our hospital and an additional 750,000 patients through our outpatient clinics. Unit Description: -Total # of beds in the unit: 33. Average daily census is: 19. Nurse to patient ratios 1:1-1:2 and 1:3 for all shifts. -No Ancillary Staff. Type of Patients: Neonates. care for all infants, float to PICU -Specific Unit Requirements: attended labor delivery birth, knowledgeable in NRP, able to care for surgical patients, GI, Cardiac, Neuro, GU, knowledgeable in medication administration, computer skills a must. Patient Care Delivery System: Team. Special Unit Procedures: PDA. Meds and drips administered: PGE, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Fentanyl, Amiodarone. Documentation System: Computerized. Supplemental Staff required to float when necessary. Scrubs can be any color, RN provides their own scrubs. FLOATING--- floats to PICU as needed.

Required Qualifications

1. PALS (can obtain any time prior to start date, will need for floating) 2. NRP, BLS 3. 2 years experience in Level III NICU (will "Screen an RN with less than this if has Prior Travel experience in Level III or IV NICU) 4. Vent management 5. Candidate will float to PICU up to 50% of the time as needed
