Perioperative Nurse - Operating Room Nurse

In 2012, our hospital received an "A" Hospital Safety Score from The Leapfrog Group. UNIT DESCRIPTION: 5 West or 8 East Tower,Total # of beds in the unit: 20. Average daily census is: 20. Nurse to patient ratios 2:1 for all shifts. No Ancillary Staff. Patients range in age from Pediatrics to Geriatrics. Staff works in 8 hour shifts. Unit patient population: All cases except no Spine, no Open Heart, and no Neuro. Must have great critical thinking skills. Ethical Issues Procedures: D&C, fetal demise, Mis AB, Laminara procedure. Meds and drips administered: Laprosopic, Ortho, Vascular, General, GYN, Urology, Registry RN’s usually are not used for pediatric ENT or specialty cases. Scrubs are light blue and RN provides their own scrubs.
