Job Description & Requirements

Urgent Care Nurse

The Urgent Care Center (UCC) unit provides emergent and comprehensive patient centered care to MSKCC’S patients, families and staff 24 hours, 7 days a week. Patients are triaged/evaluated, and a decision is made to fast track, admit, discharge or place a patient in observation status in the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU). In the CDU, observation care is a well-defined set of specific, clinically appropriate services, which include ongoing short term treatment, assessment, and reassessment, that are furnished while a decision is being made regarding whether patients will require further treatment as hospital inpatients or if they are able to be discharged from the hospital. RN’s will rotate between the UCC and CDU as needed. MINIMUM of 2 SOLID YEARS of ED, Critical Care or Cardiac Step-down experience required. ACLS required.

Required Qualifications

Requires a minimum of 1.5 years of Critical Care, ED or Cardiac Step-Down experience. ACLS, BLS
