Telephone Triage - Call Center Nurse
~Orientation & training, how many hours/weeks, and by whom? Up to 12 weeks, 40 hours a week 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, by the training department managed by Libertie Collins.
~Resources, does this include on-site RNs, MDs, phone contacts, digital access, etc.? The resources include RN supervisors. RN lead by phone, and digital resources such as clinical protocols and library.
~Assistive personnel, what disciplines? Non-clinical, non-nurse will front end calls from the patient prior to sending to the nurse. This only allows the member to have an opportunity to speak to a person in a short period of time and routed to the appropriate level of service. Some members have the opportunity to receive a call back rather than wait on hold at this stage of assistive personnel interaction.
Clinic is open 24/7. Flexible scheduling. Must have weekend availability
Candidate requirements:
The ideal candidate to work at KP OnCall as a Telemedicine Specialist (TMS/ RN) would possess strong, advanced computer skills. They will need to demonstrate navigating phone software along with other applications simultaneously. Return demonstration and proficiency to retain what is taught for using the phone software before clinical training can begin. The nurse will need clinical experience within the past two years in the following:
" Emergency, Urgent Care or Acute Care settings
" Clinical knowledge of all age groups including: OB-GYN, Newborn/Peds, Post Op
" Excellent critical thinking and interviewing skills
" Excellent customer service
" Empathetic phone presence
" Excellent verbal communication: easily understood when speaking over the phone
